Over the last little while, or long while, I'd read up on all my friends lives and have so much fun and then think, "if I had a blog I'd write about this or that and think I'd have sooo much to say and now here it is - me and MY BLOG and well..what do you say that anyone would care a hoot about, enough so to keep coming back? So, to keep it easy on myself until I get into the serious blogger mode, here's a rundown with what's been happening with us.
Reas (the hubby): What? I have a husband? I almost forgot, although I have a vague recollection of a man who was once around. Okay, it's not really THAT bad, but he is very busy these days and our family time is definitely something not to waste. He works as an underwriter for Wells Fargo Financial, is in his 2nd semester in the Master's Accounting program at UNLV, and is 1st Counselor in our ward bishopric. Between all those responsibilities he is trying to work his way through a very long list of home improvement projects. In January we moved into our first home, a very exciting thing for us. We got an awesome deal on it due to the fact that it's a foreclosure which was fine with us, but as some of you may know FORECLOSURE =LOTS OF WORK. So 3 cheers for the husband who has gone from a self-proclaimed UNhandyman to a plumber, electrician, landscaper, painter, and carpenter!
Carrie (me): I have realized that at this point in my life, my accomplishments may not quite measure up to some people's idea of a a full day's work. Yes, there are those occasional days where I think, "is this REALLY what I'm going to be doing for the next HOW many years?" But 99% of the time I love being a stay at home mom of 3. And I call it a great day if the beds are made, my teeth are brushed before noon, the kids are happy, and I have a plan for the evening's meal. I'm also in the primary presidency at church and love it! Recently I've begun giving piano lessons, and do some babysitting on the side. In my "spare" time I love working on projects around the house - mostly turning potentially pretty D.I. bargains into something worth owning. You can do wonders with a can of spray paint and a glue gun. Try it.
Maggie (6): Maggie is a 1st grader this year and does great. She loves to read anything she can get her hands on, whether its the junk mail sitting on the table or Dad's most recent school assignment. She'll tell you that math is her worst subject because she got a B on a test once. I'm afraid that her stress level as a 1st grader is a little unhealthy! She loves riding her bike, jumping rope, playing dress up, and has recently taken to climbing anything. Last week she was wandering around the yard and house, complaining that there was nothing else to climb. She's looking forward to swim lessons and gymnastics once summer break starts.
Ty (4): Ty is our loving, cuddly one. He is so sweet with babies and is great to his little sister. He is very interested in anything and has fun doing everything - playing in the dirt, cooking in the kitchen, or coloring a picture. He enjoys it all as long as he has someone to do it WITH. "When will Maggie be home?" is definitely his most frequently asked question. Well, that or "Can I have a snack?" It's a toss up.
Claire (almost 2): Ohhhh Claire. A bundle of extreme emotions makes for never a dull moment. She loves her baby dolls and spends the day making sure they're fed, bathed, and comfortable. But this sweet little thing is instantly sent into a rage if things are not done the "right" way (the Claire way) which varies by day, thus making for some unpredictable situations. As a 3rd child, Claire definitely holds her own and is not bossed around by older siblings. Fortunately she is quick to laugh, smile, and give hugs, and somehow that makes it all okay!
