The simple truth is I have had absolutely zero blogging inspiration lately. I know it's obvious. My brain has gone into vegging mode along with my body which seems to barely be able to get me up the stairs these days. And since we all know that pictures speak more loudly than words, I'll just SHOW you what I've been up to....or what I HAVEN'T been up to.

I haven't been up to putting away laundry.

I haven't been up to organizing the pantry/coat closet.

I haven't been up to making my bed.

I haven't been up to unpacking after last weekend's quick trip to CA.

I haven't been up to grocery shopping. Looks like sour cream and pickles tonight!

The list goes on, but you get the idea.

To keep things on a more positive note, here's what I HAVE been doing.

I've been watching my toes disappear under my belly.

I've been keeping a tight watch on this bag of chocolate chips, not letting it get too lonely.

I've made a new best friend named The Calendar. If I take my eyes off of it for more than 6.2 seconds I am sure to forget what I'm doing in 10 minutes.

Most importantly I stay far, far away from THIS.

And to satisfy the nesting instinct, I washed my first load of baby clothes today. If only it could always be this fun!

And lest you think it possible for me to stop project-ing all together, here's my latest little redo.

I sooped up this lamp with some fabric and fringe - LOVE it! And a sweet little lady at church crocheted this...I know it has a special little name, but can't think of it at the moment. I didn't quite know how to display it, but I'm loving it now!

Oh yes. One more thing...I decided to make my bed today.

So, what do you do when your 4 year-old, in a moment of frustration, blurts out "oh, suck!"? I never say that. Reas never says that. Where do they come up with this? All he watches is Nick Jr. and I don't recall Diego ever using that kind of language! I have to admit I actually laughed out loud because it sounded so ridiculous coming out of his mouth. Then after thinking twice, we had a good little talk about nice language. I asked him where he heard that and he claimed, "I didn't even know it was a word." yeah, right. He was letting one of his little friends off the hook! Or his sister...

I love my primary calling at church - I really do, but one thing that has me shaking my head at the moment is CUB SCOUTS. I have had the pleasure of being the primary counselor over scouts for the past 2 or so years (I've kinda lost track), which is usually not a big deal - just a few meetings here and there. And I'm not complaining - I'd get in big trouble for that. I am simply about to share an observation I have made about SOME people (not all, that would be a generalization, I know) in the scouting community. They are CRAZY!!!! C.R.A.Z.Y!!!! Crazy over cub scouts. I truly believe that some of the nice, crazy people that I have met over the last few days go to bed planning their next camp-0-ree, dream about the next leadership badge they will earn (and how to wear it properly on their uniform), and jump up the next morning, run to their computer and hope to find 36 new emails to answer in regards to cubscouts. I'm pretty sure that none of my friends down at the scout office have time to read my blog, so I feel safe venting to my small crowd of readers. But REALLLLLLY. On Saturday, I was at a cubscout meeting for 6 hours. SIX HOURS!!! I thought I just might fall over and die. And the funny thing was I'd look around at all the other people in the meeting and they looked so happy to be there. Big smiles, sparkly eyes, even at 7 in the morning - yes, that's what time the meeting started. They looked as if they were thinking, "can we do this again tomorrow?" Is there something wrong with me? Maybe I haven't truly caught on to the spirit of scouting. I completely agree that Cubscouts is a wonderful program that helps a lot of boys, but oh... the PASSION,COMMITMENT, and TIME that I have seen just kind of makes my jaw drop. It is truly amazing. Tomorrow I will have the pleasure of meeting yet again with one of the most devoted scouters I know. In fact, I will even be receiving some personal, one on one training from him. Wow. My biggest fear - I might be there till midnight. Actually there's another fear - I don't own a scouting uniform and I might get busted.

Alright. Done. I need to go work on some stuff for our next pack meeting :)
